Ginny Process

Every life, and every life-stage, makes unique demands on your architecture.  Ginny starts the architectural process by listening to the needs of each person who will be Living with Architecture.  The plan we make together is the plan we follow.  The strong choices to which we commit as design partners are the decisions that ensure long-term value.

The choice to upgrade an existing home or create a completely new living space is a lifetime investment.  Most likely this kind of decision happens only once or twice in your lifetime.  The Ginny process is a reflection of the ambition and importance of your commitment.  Every project is unique, but in broad strokes, Ginny follows this 10-stage plan for every architectural endeavor.

  1. Initial Meeting: Establish goals, match budget with expectations;
  2. Schematic Design: Presentation of multiple plan concepts;
  3. Hybrid Plan Refinement: Revised plan concept, exterior elevation concepts;
  4. Sign-off on Schematic Design: Review plans, elevations, and site design;
  5. Design Development: Plan and elevation refinement, material selections;
  6. Design Development Sign-off: Architectural, structural and mechanical;
  7. Creation of Construction Documents: Complete drawings and specifications;
  8. Construction Bidding and Negotiating: Qualify bidders list, select builder;
  9. Construction:  Regular architect site visits and owner, architect, builder meetings; ensure construction meets requirements of construction documents; and
  10. Occupancy: The promise of Living with Architecture.

Ginny uses this process to keep goals both heroic and real.  As we tell our stakeholders, “Anything is possible.  We are here to find the BEST possible.” Our keys to success are strong dialogue and honest conversation with all the stakeholders throughout the process.  One of the true joys of architecture is that no two projects can ever be the same.  As a result, time frames for projects will vary.  Ginny typically approaches a residential architecture project with a minimum 12-month timeline from initial meeting to occupancy.

Twelve months for lifetime decisions.

Ginny believes that we all should enjoy better Living with Architecture.  Each point of this 10-stage plan has many details and variables.  Ginny would be honored to explore more fully with you the details of the Ginny architectural process.
